Hamdan Medical Award resumes its programs in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency 30 April 2017
30 April 2017: Within the framework of the Technical Cooperation Projects of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Radiation on Medicine, supported by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, and organized by Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the IAEA, the workshop for Referral Physicians on Patient Referral Guidelines started today. 
 
The 3-day workshop is held at the Medical Education Department, Dubai Health Authority, with the participation of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) namely; Prof. Richard Mendelson, Consultant Radiologist at Royal Perth Hospital, Australia, and Dr. Ravinder Dhillon, Consultant Breast Radiologist from Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital Nedlands, Australia.
 
In the presence of about 30 radiologists, medical physicists and technicians from within the UAE, the workshop is centred on training the specialists on the optimization of radiation protection for patients, and on the implementation of the highest safety standards approved globally.
 
The participants said that such an important training program contributes effectively to the development of services provided by health institutions at the state level in accordance with the international standards.
