Under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences: The 2nd Pedia-Dubai 2015 is to start tomorrow 01 April 2015
Abdullah bin Souqat, the Executive Director of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, announced that under the patronage of the award and in cooperation with the RAK Medical and Health Sciences University, the 2nd Pedia-Dubai 2015will start tomorrow. The 3-days event deals with pediatrics and neonatology and will be held at Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center in the Dubai Medical City, with the participation of more than 350 specialists from the UAE and abroad. 
 
“This year, the conference is held under the slogan "Bridging the Gaps in Neonatal and Child Health", with the aim of supporting the principles of applying the results of the scientific research and the evidence based medicine in the clinical practices. Also, the participants in the conference will receive 18 CME hours accredited form the UAE Ministry of Health”, he said.
 
“Holding the conference under the patronage of Hamdan Medical Award comes within the framework of the award’s efforts in supporting all ways to improve the performance of professionals in the healthcare sectors, particularly the continuing medical education activities which is considered a good opportunity to exchange the experiences about the latest findings in various medical disciplines”, Abdullah bin Souqat added.
 
For his part, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Khayyat, the president of the Conference, said that the 2nd Pedia-Dubai2015 includes 23 lectures by a group of consultants and professors of pediatrics and neonatology from the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon, Egypt, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria and Ireland. Also, on the sidelines of the conference, an exhibition will be held with the participation of 12 companies presenting the latest technologies used in this field of medicine.
 
“During the first day of the conference, 7 training workshops will be held on the basics of controlled ventilation and non-invasive ventilation, in addition to the multisclice evaluation of Tracheo-BronchoPulmonary Malformations, GIT Emergencies, vomiting in children, the role of Vitamin D in the prevention and treatment of bone problems, immune diseases, allergies, tumors and concentration in children”, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Khayat said.
 
“The 1st day of the conference will be concluded with 4 lectures about several important topics such as the diagnosis of heart diseases, Leukemia, tumors, obesity in children and the prevention from the respiratory viral infections among premature babies”, he added.
