Hamdan Medical Award participates in the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Exhibition "DIHAD" 25 March 2015
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences participates in the accompanying exhibition of the 12th edition of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference "DIHAD". The conference is held under the slogan "opportunities, mobility and sustainability" with the participation of 396 companies and associations working in the field of relief and responding to crisis from 66 countries.
 
The conference was opened by H.R.H. Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, United Nations Messenger of Peace and Chairperson of the International Humanitarian City.
 
For his part, Abdullah bin Souqat, the Executive Director of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, has pointed out to the keenness of the award to participate annually in the accompanying exhibition of the conference which is a good marketing platform for the international Hamdan Award for volunteers in humanitarian medical services. This award is biannually awarded to four winners, personalities or organizations who provide important voluntary services and significantly contribute to alleviating the suffering of a large number of human beings subjected to exceptional circumstances such as catastrophes, epidemics, famine, wars and natural calamities.
 
“By receiving a number of distinctive nominations, the arbitration jury will have a good opportunity to select good winners. Over the previous eight terms, this award has been given to 13 personalities and 15 organizations and we are looking forward to further achievements supporting our distinguished reputation all over the world”, he added.
