HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum honored Prof. Al Khaja 21 October 2011
Yesterday, HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, honored Prof. Najeeb Al Khaja, consultant cardiac surgeon and General Secretary of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, as one of UAE distinguished leading pioneers of cardiology. Prof. Al Khaja was honored during the Opening Ceremony of 2nd Annual Emirates Cardiac Society Congress 2011.
 
The 3-days conference was opened by HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai, and organized by Emirates Cardiac Society in cooperation with Dubai Health Authority and Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, with the attendance of HE Qadhi Al Murooshid General Director of Dubai Health Authority, senior officials in DHA and more than 800 doctors and specialists in the field of cardiovascular diseases representing a number of prestigious medical institutions all over the world.
 
Following the Opening Ceremony, HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, referred to the importance of medical conferences as being a platform for health sector workers to discover the latest developments and technologies in that field.
 
HH Sheikh Hamdan also pointed out that diagnostic and therapeutic technology has witnessed a tremendous development, which may help doctors in the future to deal with heart diseases without surgery.
 
On the other hand, Prof. Najeeb Al Khaja said that he is so proud of being honored by HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid which is considered a clear indication for supporting UAE scientists generally and doctors particularly, in pursue of medical excellence.
 
Al Khaja said that supporting scientists and doctors comes within tireless efforts exerted by HH Sheikh Hamdan for many decades as the president of DHA. “HH is keen on developing Emirati medical staff through supporting continuous medical education and medical research, in order to help doctors to be familiar with tremendous development in the medical field”, he added.
 
“HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum spares no efforts to support doctors, in order to put UAE on the map of countries with the best health sector services”, he said.
 
Also, Al Khaja encouraged Emirati young doctors to exert more efforts for the best UAE health sector.
