Hamdan Medical Award participates in World Ophthalmology Congress 2012 20 February 2012
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences has participated in the exhibition held on the sidelines of the 33rd annual World Ophthalmology Congress 2012 (WOC 2012), from 16th to 20th of February, at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, with participation of 12 thousand experts from 136 countries.
 
WOC 2012, was held under the patronage of General H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, in the presence of Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nayhan, chairman, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority and Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company.  
 
WOC 2012 was organized and hosted by the Middle East Africa Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO), represents the national and sub-regional ophthalmological societies in Africa and the Middle East, and supported by Abu Dhabi Authority for Tourism and Culture. 
 
Abdullah Bin Souqat Executive Director of the Award praised the Congress, particularly the accompanied Exhibition which was held on 2011 thousand square meters with participation of more than 150 local and international companies.
 
"It is a good chance to support the Award's channels of communication with the Congress' participants, to explain the Award's services and activities aiming at developing medical sectors locally and internationally", Bin Souqat said.
