8th Emirates Critical Care Conference honors Hamdan Medical Award 08 April 2012
Hamdan Medical Award was honored during the Closing Ceremony of the 8th Emirates Critical Care Conference, which was held in conjunction with the 4th Asia Africa Conference of the World Federation of Societies of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine (WFSICCM), 8th International Pan Arab Critical Care Medicine Society, the 1st Neuro-Critical Care Middle East North Africa Conference, and 1st Global Sepsis Alliance-Gulf, at the Events Centre in Dubai Festival City.
 
The Award was honored in recognition of its leading role in supporting the Continuing Medical Education, particularly the 8th Emirates Critical Care Conference which has achieved a remarkable success on local, regional and international levels.
 
The Conference was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance, President of Dubai Health Authority and Patron of the Award, and organized by Emirates Critical Care Society.
 
“The 9th Emirates International Critical Care Conference was announced to be held from 10 until 13 of April 2013”, said Prof. Dr. Hussain Nasser Al Rahma, President of the Conference, President of the International Pan Arab Critical Care Medicine Society, Chairman of the Emirates Intensive Care Society and head of ICU, Dubai Hospital.
 
“The first award for the best posters by doctors, "Al Razi Award", is for Dr. Rania Omar, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt, for a research entitled Assessment of Left Ventricular Performance in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease”, Prof. Hussein said. 
 
“The 2nd award "Ibn Al-Haytham" is for Dr. Nawal Hubaishi, Dubai Hospital, Dubai Health Authority, for the research entitled Partial Hydatiform Mole Coexisting with Alive Fetus”, he added.
 
“As for the third one, "Ibn Sina Award", it is for Dr. Ihab Ahmed Taha, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt, for the research paper on the usefulness and Accuracy of Atropine in Patients with Chronotropic Incompetence and Poor Exercise Capacity During Treadmill Stress Testing”, he added.
 
“Ibn Bitar Award", for the best poster by students, is for Aisha Saleh Alsuaiji”, he added.
 
“Ibn Tilmeez Award” for the best poster on the management of critical care units is for Dr. Eman Abu Gharbieh, UAE, on adherence to guidelines for Antithrombotic Therapy in Acute Coronary Syndrome in United Arab Emirates Hospitals”, he added.
 
Dr. Hussain Nasser Al Rahma pointed out that these papers will be published on the Journal of the World Federation of Societies of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine.
