Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan honors Hamdan Medical Award 08 May 2013
Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Maktoum Foundation, honored Hamdan Medical Award in recognition of its continuous efforts in supporting the activities of the community service, particularly the activities of the Emirates Down syndrome Association 2013/2014.
 
This came during the ceremony held by the Emirates Down syndrome Association, under the patronage of Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan, at Shangri-La Hotel with the attendance of more than 50 honored individuals, governmental authorities and private enterprises as well as the association's staff and volunteers.
 
Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan and Mrs. Sonia Al Hashemi, Chairperson of Emirates Down syndrome Association, delivered the association's trophy to Mr. Abdullah bin Souqat, Executive Director of Hamdan Medical Award. Bin Souqat thanked Sheikh Rashid on supporting such a ceremony which is an incentive for the UAE institutions to support the activities of the community service, especially those activities directed to people with special needs.
 
"Hamdan Medical Award has a lot of achievements in the field of the community service. Sincere national societies are an important channel to reach to various segments of the society, particularly people with special needs, to support them and their rights to share in the development and production process", Bin Souqat said.
 
It is noteworthy that Hamdan Medical Award was a Gold Sponsor of the World Down syndrome Day held on 23 March 2013 in the UAE.
