CAGS Launches its Updated Website 10 January 2021
Dubai-10 Jan 2021: The Centre for Arab Genomic Studies (CAGS), a division of the Sheikh Hamdan Award for Medical Sciences, has launched its brand new website. Hosted at www.cags.org.ae, the updated website offers a snapshot of the structure and activities of the Centre, and offers users a clean layout, simple navigation structure and user-friendly functions. Care has been taken to provide a valuable and responsive resource that is accessible across all platforms and devices.
Apart from details on the structure and function of the Centre, the website also hosts the open Catalogue for Transmission Genetics in Arabs (CTGA) Database. The CTGA Database is a valuable resource for both clinicians and genetic researchers. The Database can provide users with not only reports of incidences of specific genetic disorders, but also the gene variants and clinical features associated with these disorders in Arab populations.
The website also contains details on upcoming conferences, workshops and other events regularly organized by CAGS, as well as a direct link to the Pan Arab Human Genetics Conference website. All of the Centre’s publications are also available on the website. Most of these can be downloaded freely.
Speaking about the website, Dr. Mahmoud Taleb Al-Ali, Director of CAGS said, “The new CAGS website reflects our efforts to provide public access to genetic data, bring together important resources for geneticists, researchers, healthcare professionals, and students.  . The team has worked hard to deliver a website that is informative and easy to use at the same time. I would like to encourage all users to make maximum use of the resources available on the website.”
For his part, His Excellency Abdullah Bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Hamdan Medical Award, praised the updated website. “The website is designed in a simple way to ensure ease of use and to allow the researchers and specialists to easily access the needed information”, he said
