Dubai-28th June 2020:  Under the Patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences the AABB Virtual Annual Meeting Highlights Conference 2020 begins today. The virtual event is broadcasted live and will shed insights and updates in the field on transfusion medicine and biotherapies from world-class international and regional speakers.

 

The conference will address the COVID-19 pandemic in a session titled, “Convalescent Plasma: International Perspectives.” This session will convene experts from Brazil, Spain and the U.S. to discuss their use of convalescent plasma during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as related experience in Hong Kong with the SARS and H1N1 viruses. Attendees will have the benefit of an extended question and answer period where the panel of experts will discuss the questions at the top of mind for professionals in the field.

In this occasion H.E. Abdulla Bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, thanked His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, President of the Dubai Health Authority, for his patronage of His Highness towards the permanent directives of all scientific events aimed at upgrading the medical sector.

 

His Excellency stressed that the support of the award comes within the directions of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance to promote continuous medical education, in order to equip national doctors and participants in the conference with global expertise to raise their scientific and practical levels.

The live online conference has the same content as the previously scheduled in-person version with minor adjustments to the program. Participants also have the luxury to get full access to recordings of every session even after the conference. The conference is accredited for maximum 9 CME by ACCME.
