Sharjah Higher Colleges of Technology hosted the National Training Course on Radiation Medicine. The opening ceremony was attended by H.E Humaid AL Qutami chairman of the board and director -general of the Dubai Heath Authority, H.E Mohammad Omran Al Shamsi, HCT chancellor and H.E Abdullah bin Souqat, Executive Director of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences and Dr. Jamila Alsuwaidi, the IAEA National projects coordinator.
 
This training course addressed the needs of the professionals in the Nuclear Medicine practice. The scientific program was conducted by 2 IAEA International experts and two local experts over 2 days in the HCT, and was followed by clinical discussions with the professionals in both Khalifa l and Dubai Hospitals.
 
The Target audience was diverse as almost 100 students, HCT professors attended the course, in addition to more than 13 physicians, Nuclear medicine Technicians, Medical Physicists and Radiographers. 
 
It should be noted that the Award supported the educational activities of "Radiation in Medicine" as early as 2000 and resumed the collaboration with the project counterpart, Dr Jamila Salem Al Suwaidi since 2014.
 
H.E Mohamed Omran Al Shamsi confirmed during his opening speech, that the hosting of the National Training course on Radiation Medicine is a reflection of the fruitful cooperation between Higher Colleges of Technology and business sectors and institutions such as the Dubai Health Authority and Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences.
 
 H.E Humaid Al Qutami mentioned that the scientific session of the IAEA came as a result of fruitful cooperation between DHA, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid medical Award and HCT which reflected the importance of similar activities that focus on radiation medicine as one of the most important scientific and professional fields at present
