51 lectures & 37 workshops at the 1st conferences of the DIAD & DIAL next week in Dubai 03 November 2016
United Arab Emirates, Dubai: Thursday, November 3, 2016 - Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences will organize the 1st conferences of the Dubai International Academy of Dermatopathology (DIAD) & Dubai International Academy of Laser & Aesthetic Dermatology (DIAL), from 10 to 12 November 2016, at St Regis Hotel, Dubai.
 
Dr. Fayza Al Ali has spoken about the uniqueness of this event, which combines two important dermatology disciplines on a single platform namely; Dermatopathology, which focuses on diagnostic challenges, and Aesthetic Dermatology, which highlights the therapeutic challenges that practitioners faces every day. 
 
She said: The Dubai International Academy of Dermatopathology Conference contributes to bridge the gap caused by the absence of such specialized medical conferences in the region, despite its importance for the diagnosis of many diseases with alike clinical symptoms such as skin infections, eczema, fungus, bacterial, viral and immune diseases, skin tumors and others. 
 
“The importance of the Laser & Aesthetic Dermatology conference comes from the steady increase in the practice of this specialty in clinics and beauty centers as well. The main aim of this conference is to train professionals on the optimal use of modern technology in this field”, she added.
 
“51 lectures and 37 workshops will be held with the participation of a galaxy of senior professors and specialists from USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, China, India, the GCC countries, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan”.
 
“17 workshops are allocated for training on using the injection of  anti-wrinkles fillers in different areas of the face such as under the eyes, the lips, the cheeks, and in the lower facial area. Other workshops will focus on the treatment of aging signs of hands’, and the non-surgical methods to correct nasal problems”, Dr. Fayza Al Ali said.
 
“These workshops will be held in a well-equipped specialized clinic at the conference venue, in accordance with the international standards and the Dubai Health Authority rules and  regulations”, she said.
 
“The participants will be acquainted with the anatomical characteristics of each part of the face they should work on. With the participation of a number of volunteers, they will know the best injection practices, the rules, the appropriate areas for injection, and how to avoid complications”.
 
“Also, the workshops will discuss the techniques of peeling, taking into consideration the special nature and types of skin of the people in the region. Marketing through the social media channels is another topic for a workshop during the conference”, she said.
 
“A number of innovative workshops will be held, including the ‘exam simulation session’, with the aim of preparing doctors for the oral and written exams of the Arab, Saudi, American and European Boards of dermatology, by the supervisors of these programs”.
 
“Regarding the ‘self-assessment session’, microscopes will be available for the attendees with pathology slides and a special brochure for the explanation. Also, the ‘virtual slides workshop’ will showcase real diseases in patients, with comments and analysis for each”, Dr Faiza Al Ali added.
 
It is worth mentioning that an international competition will be held on the sidelines of the conference to select the best diagnostic or therapeutic case presented during the conference.
