H.E. Abdul Rahman Al Owais, UAE Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences praised the unlimited support by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance, President of Dubai Health Authority and Patron of the Award to the health sector, particularly the Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment Diploma. H.E. Al Owais confirmed on the importance of the scientific program of such a training course which deals with many valuable topics such as monitoring the health situation, collecting and analysis data and drawing conclusions to support decisions taken by the health institutions.

 

This came during the visit paid by H.E. Abdul Rahman Al Owais to inspect the activities of the Diploma organized by Hamdan Medical Award in cooperation with University of Washington, USA, at Al Murooj Rotana Hotel, Dubai. H.E. Al Owais welcomed the professors and the participants including a galaxy of the opinion leaders and decision-makers from the health institutions within the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait. Also, he pointed out that the course deals with health services from a new perspective, the economic perspective, which is an essential factor for upgrading the health institutions, a part of the UAE vision within the coming era.
