Dr. Arif Al Noryani received his BSc in human medicine and surgery from Ohm University, Germany in 1993, before joining the specialist program for internal medicine and cardiology in 1997. In 2003, he graduated from the Cardiology Center at Munich University Hospital.
 
In 2004, Dr. Arif joined work at the Ministry of Health and Prevention at Al Qasimi, at which he established the cardiac catheter unit, with one system, three technicians and a single nurse. The unit was responsible to cover all the five Northern Emirates in cardiology service affairs.
 
Dr. Arif, supported by the Unit team and the Ministry of Health and Prevention, along with efforts of other departments, exerted major efforts to promote work at the Unit. This included supplying the best services, using the most modern international systems and technologies, and conducting quality operations in support of cardiology patients. Through the concerted efforts of Dr. Arif and his team, the Unit is now a global advanced center in the field of cardiac surgery, with more than 21,000 surgeries being carried out by the Center since its launch.
 
Dr. Arif has many achievements in the field of cardiac surgery. He has used the most modern technologies in all operations carried out at the Center. For instance, using robots in cardiac surgeries for the first time outside USA, in addition to the Da Vinci robotic technology. Dr. Arif has live streamed many heart operations to audiences in several countries around the world and successfully participated in many international conferences.
 
Dr. Arif has received many awards, such as Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Award for the Best Medical Center in 2012, on behalf of his Unit; the Emirates Pride Medal 2012; GCC Distinguished Physician Award 2015; and the Best Employee Award from Emirates Today for March 2015.
 
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Dr. Arif Abdullah Al Noryani is awarded Hamdan Award for Honoring Individuals Working in the field of Medicine & Health, for the 2017-2018 term.
