History and Services
Is a non-profit organization involved in providing healthcare services to the needy people in the developing countries. Al Sabeel association was foundedon November 21, 1988 by the state under No.124/98 the association is seeking to achieve its objectives through the annual program of activities:

Setup of a statistical card for the disabled

Social (aid) (support) (contribution) represented in benefiting from the free (shares) (lessons) for the functional re-education for needy disabled people.

Interest to develop the talents and creativity of the physically disabled children.

Organizing of outdoors recreational trips.

Participate in various sporting events for the disabled

Organizing educational days for the prevention of disability

Educational and awareness sessions for parents
Al Sabeel Association joined partnership with other active associations in the field of disability with coordination of the national federation of disables, the association aims to improve disable children socially,culturally and professionally and provide funding/sponsoring for physically disabled children and to create cultural environment for disabled children.

Al Sabeel association participates in the project sponsored by contributing associations for supporting disability, by preparing project for the possibility of the disabled to be part of the new city project in the Jijel province, Algeria. The Algerian Federation of Disabilities is seeking to recruit all active people in the State Sectors and associates to include them in the program and activities for effective social participation.
The association has set up Statistical Card for the disabled. They provide free lessons for re-education of disabled persons in need; support for free medication, treatment and clothing; develop the talents and creativity of the physically handicapped children; organize outdoor activities, educational days and awareness for parents.
This association coordinates with other active associations like the National Federation of the Disabled in the universal integration projects for local development as a solution to the problem of the exclusion of the disabled from the everyday activities of the society. The committee felt that Al Sabeel deserved to be recognized for their work among the disabled.
Milestones
The Association participation in the advocacy (supporting) project within the framework of the National Federation of Disables and working for the National Federation of Disabled and working on the implementation of the Presidential Degree No. 09/188 of 12the may 2009 which includes the endorsement of the international Convention with regard to the rights of persons with disabilities in Algeria.
Additionally the Association got involved in the programmes arranged by the Federation for supporting the disabled to gain access to public places, departments and facilities.
Programmes/Initiatives: The most important achievements of Al Sabeel Association are:

Create a record for disabled children: a specialist team goes to different areas to support disable children and check up their health situation and provide what is needed by their families

Holding campaigns: by broadcasting advertisements through TV and Radio to support disabled children and visiting psychiatric clinics and schools for deaf and dump children and provide guidance to their families.

Providing material support for association: by collecting donation such as clothes, bed sheets, wheel chair and others and distributing it to the needy families and their disabled children.

Providing psychological assistance for disable children: by providing treatment sessions for children and follow

up their situation.

Social inclusion for disabled children: through supporting the disable children talents.
The association organizes exhibitions annually celebrating national occasions and religious events with the children by providing gifts and toys for disabled children.

The association participation in humanitarian campaign: The associations collect and deliver aid and medicine to families affected by cold waves, snow and rain.

European Union project: children care center has been established in collaboration with the European Union which covers disabled and normal children. It is a specialized kindergarten supervised by specialists, the center provides all the services to the disable children to support them to integrate into society.
Considering the great job being performed by the organization to some of the most-deserving members of the society in developing countries, creation of cadres of volunteers and the overall vision of reaching out to more people in the future, Al Sabeel Association deserves to be presented with the Hamdan Award for Volunteers in Humanitarian Medical Services.
