Hamdan Medical Award is to hold the Graduation Ceremony for the 2nd batch of the Regional Diploma in Anesthesia and Analgesia 06 January 2013
Under the auspices of H.E. Abdul Rahman Al Owais, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Acting Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (HMA), the Award will hold the Graduation Ceremony for the 2nd batch of the Diploma in Regional Anesthesia and Analgesia today evening at Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center, Dubai Healthcare City. Annually, HMA organizes the Diploma in collaboration with the University of Montpellier 1, France, and supported by Dubai Healthcare Authority.
 
During the Ceremony, 38 doctors from the Middle East, Cyprus, Switzerland and Philippines will be honored with the attendance of a number of professors from Montpellier University, headed by Prof. Philippe Augé, the University President, the officials of the Consulate General of France in Dubai, the Diploma's medical and administrative staff and UAE Ministry of Health and DHA officials. 
 
"Within the framework of the partnership agreement signed in 2011 by HMA and the University of Montpellier 1, France, the Award will organize a number of diplomas accredited by the university in a number of important medical specialties, including the Clinical Research Methodology, Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine", Abdullah Bin Souqat, Executive Director, HMA, said. 
 
"The Ceremony is held in conjunction with the launch of the lectures for the students of the 3rd batch of the Diploma at Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center, with the participation of 36 doctors from UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Iraq and Iran", he said. 
 
On the other hand, Dr. Mansour Nadheri, the Co-Director of the Diploma and Consultant Anesthetist at Trauma Center, Dubai Rashid Hospital, praised the scientific program of the Diploma which deals with the Local Anesthesia, Acroanesthesia and Central Anesthesia. 
 
"The scientific program of the Diploma has been prepared under the direct supervision of the University of Montpellier 1, France. The diploma is composed of 3 modules; Theorical part with 64 lectures, 30 % by a local faculty, 30 % by visiting professors and 40% by video conferences, 2 days of workshops on models, and phantoms Clinical part with 10 days of clinical attachment in accredited hospitals", he added.
