Dubai: The activities of the World Physiotherapy Congress, which was held under the patronage of ‎Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, kicked off in Dubai, at the Dubai ‎World Trade Center, with the participation of more than 2,000 specialists in the field of physiotherapy ‎from all over the world.‎
The opening of the conference, which will last for three days, was attended by His Excellency Abdullah ‎bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical ‎Sciences, and His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al Khayyat, Executive Director and Vice Chairman of the ‎Board of Directors of Al Jalila Children’s Hospital and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sheikh ‎Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award. for Medical Sciences, Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, Executive Director ‎of the Health Regulation Sector, representing His Excellency Mr. Awad Al Ketbi, Director General of the ‎Dubai Health Authority, Dr. Moza Al Sharhan, President of the Emirates Medical Association, Dr. Amal ‎Al Shamlan, former President of the Physiotherapy Division, and Dr. Emma Stock, President of the ‎General Assembly of the Physiotherapy Organization, and Dr. Jonathan Kruger, Chief executive of the ‎society.‎
Naima Saleh, President of the Emirates Physiotherapy Association, said in her opening remarks, ‎‎“Physiotherapy in the UAE has witnessed remarkable growth and achievements over the past few ‎years, as our commitment to evidence-based practice, multidisciplinary collaboration, and patient-‎centered care has kept us at the forefront of the healthcare field. "‎
And she indicated that this conference is being held under the auspices of the Sheikh Hamdan bin ‎Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, which worked proactively for the advancement of ‎medical sciences and health care, and this support confirms the importance of this conference and our ‎common interest in the excellence of physiotherapy, as well as the role of the Emirates Medical ‎Association. In supporting the Physiotherapy Division in all its projects to develop the physiotherapy ‎profession to keep pace with best practices in physiotherapy

The conference activities include 17 specialized seminars, 12 discussion sessions, and 48 presentation ‎sessions, in addition to displaying 800 printed posters of the latest publications and recent studies ‎related to physiotherapy.‎

One of the most important seminars on the first day of the World Congress of Physiotherapy is to ‎discuss serious diseases, whose symptoms may be similar to symptoms of problems of the ‎musculoskeletal system, and it will be presented by specialized physiotherapists and distinguished ‎researchers in this field.‎
