World Physiotherapy Congress 2023 to Kick Off in June 22 May 2023
Under the patronage of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum ‎Award for Medical Sciences, the activities of the World Physiotherapy Conference will take ‎place at the World Trade Center in Dubai, from the 2nd to the 4th of June, 2023. Being held for ‎the first time in the Middle East and the Arab world, the Conference will bring together a group ‎of experts in the field of physiotherapy from all over the world to present the latest technologies ‎in the field of physiotherapy.‎
 
The Conference is expected to host more than 2,000 senior specialists in the field of ‎physiotherapy from 110 participating countries. The scientific program of the conference includes ‎‎130 scientific sessions. More than 1,700 posters have been submitted reached 1for presentation at ‎the Conference, of which 1,245 have been accepted.‎
 
Over the three days of the Conference, experts from all over the world will discuss the latest ‎evidence-based medical studies in the field of physiotherapy and other various and emerging topics ‎in these fields.‎
 
Naima Saleh, President of Emirates Physiotherapy Society said, “World Physiotherapy was ‎established in 1951 by 11 countries with 20,000 members. At present, the number of Member ‎organization are 127 with 650,000 member physiotherapists worldwide. The World Physiotherapy ‎Congress is held every two years, and the World Physiotherapy Congress with General meeting ‎every four years. This is the first time that the World Physiotherapy Congress will be held in the ‎region and Arab world with more than 20 exhibitors. “‎
 
‎“The congress will also be preceded by the World Physiotherapy general meeting on the 30th and ‎‎31st of May 2023. This meeting to be held at the Conrad Hotel in Dubai is the main governance ‎meeting attended by the leaders of its member organizations”, she added.‎
 
The Chairperson of the Emirates Physiotherapy Society ‎ Scientific Committee and Member of ‎Congress Program Committee said, “The scientific program of the conference is rich and contains ‎‎130 lectures and 17 focused seminars that will be presented by distinguished speakers, in ‎addition to 800 posters‎ ‎. The conference will discuss a number of topics ranging  from ‎musculoskeletal and cardio respiratory conditions, women and pelvic health, pediatric, and ‎neurology, to global health issues and  advances in education and specialization, Artificial ‎intelligence in physiotherapy, the role of physiotherapy and rehabilitation of patient with long ‎covid, public health issues and role of physiotherapy, digital practice in physiotherapy, ‎knowledge translation from research and evidence base practice in physiotherapy, and ‎physiotherapy and rehabilitation  in spinal cord injury”, he added
 
On his part, His Excellency Abdullah bin Souqat, Executive ‎Director of the Hamdan Medical ‎Award, stated that the award is ‎keen to support all events that provide such opportunities to ‎‎meet experts from all over the world, exchange and share ‎innovations and ideas with attendees to ‎promote scientific ‎research and support continuing medical education.‎

It is worth noting that the conference will include the presentation of 4 awards: the Mildred ‎Elson Award, the International Service Award, Humanitarian Service Award, and Leadership in ‎Rehabilitation Award.‎
