Today will start the 9th Emirates International Orthopaedic Congress in Dubai 03 November 2021
Hi Excellency Awad Saghir Al Ketbi will inaugurate today morning the 9th Emirates ‎International Orthopaedic Congress hosted Under the patronage of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al ‎Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences and is organized by the Emirates Orthopaedic Society of the Emirates ‎Medical Association at the Mövenpick Grand Hotel Al Bustan Dubai (Airport), in the presence of more than ‎‎600 consultants, doctors, nurse and technician from the UAE and the region.‎
 
Dr. Ali Al Suwaidi, Consultant Orthopedic surgeon and President of the Emirates Orthopedic Society, ‎emphasized the importance of holding this global event in Dubai.  The happening of this Congress is ‎important especially after the country’s recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic and the negative ‎repercussions of the pandemic on doctors experiencing shortages in obtaining the required Credit Hours to ‎renew their respective licenses for practicing their profession.  Dr. Al Suwaidi pointed out that the three-day ‎Congress will be very important for Orthopaedic practitioners that can obtain up-to 23.5 CME Credit Hours ‎from the Dubai Health Authority.‎
 
Sixty-four regional and international lecturers will present in this Congress coming from 14 countries ‎including Europe, the USA, Australia and India.  The agenda consists of 88 scientific lectures over three days ‎in addition to 4 hands-on workshops and 5 industry related symposiums.‎
 
Dr. Ali Al Suwaidi added that the Congress aims to position Dubai as a regional and global medical treatment ‎hub and consolidate this thrive in developing healthcare professionals and creating an incubating ‎environment for experts and researchers.  The interest in providing this incubating environment generated ‎the development of healthcare services to all segments of the society.  Organizing Conferences and ‎Congresses by attracting global experts, made of Dubai an important center for hosting Congresses and has ‎positively impacted the healthcare services in the Emirates.‎
 
His Excellency Abdulla Bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award ‎for Medical Sciences, confirmed the Award’s keenness to support Continuous Medical Education following His ‎Late Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum directives, May His Soul Rest in Peace and all ‎specialized Congresses aiming at providing specialized doctors in the UAE in particular and the GCC in ‎general with global expertise, skills and updates.‎
 
His Excellency added that once The Award receive a support request, they will study the scientific papers ‎and check the qualifications of the speakers to guarantee the benefit of the delegates from their attendance ‎to such activities.  The support of Congresses stimulates Medical Tourism and develops the practitioners’ ‎expertise through face to face and direct interaction with the world experts.‎
 
An exhibition will be hosted in parallel to the Congress where 18 local and international companies will ‎showcase their latest products, implants and devices in the field of Orthopedics.   ‎
