Hamdan Medical Award Organizes Webinar Series 30 August 2021
The Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences is organizing a series of scientific webinars on a number of important topics. The wabinar series will feature previous winners of the Award who will share their expertise in several diverse fields with the participants.
The first webinar in this series will be held on Tuesday, 14th September 2021, and will focus on the topic of Phenotypic and Target Based Drug Discovery: Approaches for the Discovery of Innovative Therapeutics  
The webinar will feature a talk by Prof. Magid Abou Gharbia, winner of the Grand Hamdan Award for the 2013-2014 term. Prof. Abou Gharbia spent 26 years at Wyeth (Pfizer) Pharmaceuticals, where he was Senior Vice President Discovery Research and is currently affiliated with the Pharmaceutical Sciences Moulder Center for Drug Discovery Research, School of Pharmacy, Temple University Philadelphia,USA. 
 
His Excellency Abdullah Bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Award said, “The Award has been working, since its inception, with academia and health authorities to serve the healthcare sector. As a nongovernmental organization, it has the free capacity to support the healthcare sector, and to continue the efforts to improve its networking capabilities, thereby further boosting its visibility and outreach.”

It is worth noting that the invitation to attend these webinars will be public and free for all institutions and individuals. This series of webinars will include many important topics presented by a group of specialized lecturers from all over the world, so that the award remains a platform for convergence of experiences and exchange of knowledge.
