CAGS webinar Series with webinar on Big Data 27 June 2021
The Centre for Arab Genomic Studies (CAGS) will continue the activities of its webinar series through its forth webinar, to be held on 30th of June, 2021 at 7p.m Entitled “Big Data in Genomics”

The webinar will host talks from Dr. Julia Baptista, clinical Scientist Exeter Genomics Laboratory, and she will discuss Genomic testing for acutely ill children with rare disease and the UK national rapid exome sequencing service, and . Dr.Andreas Henschel, senior Director Khalifa University who will discuss Genotype-Phenotype predictions using Genomic Data Science: Enabling Machine Learning for Understudied Populations, and Shareef Nahas, Rady  Assiciate professor Children’s Institute for Genomic Medicine will discuss System for delivery of rapid genome sequencing-enabled management of childhood genetic diseases, the webinar will be moderated by Dr. Aashish Jha, assistant professor NYUAD CAGS started this series of webinars in February 2021, with each programme in the series featuring distinguished doctors and researchers in the field of genetics who share their most recent studies with the participants.

The first webinar in this series focused on the genomics of infectious diseases, and was attended by more than 400 participants from all over the world and the second webinar focused on Population Genetics and attended by more than 600 participant, and one more last May and attended by more than 500 participants, and discussed the topic of "gene therapy".

Dr. Mahmoud Taleb Al Ali manager of CAGS said” "The current state of genomic sciences is closely linked to big data generation and analysis. We are very fortunate to have these speakers talking about different, but related aspects of the use of big data in the diagnosis, treatment and prediction of genetic diseases."
