Dubai 4th March 2020: Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences is inviting applications for the 11th term of the Award through the Nomination submission Portal. The Award is inviting nominations from all over the world for the International Awards, from the Arab World for the Arab World Awards and for the UAE Awards, especially from the Public Sector Hospitals for the Hamdan Award for Outstanding Clinical Department in the Public Sector in UAE.

 

This announcement was made during the meeting held by the Scientific Committee of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award at the Award headquarters in Dubai, after experts from the field of AI were appointed to expand the Members of the scientific sub-committee to evaluate and select the winners from the field.

 

The sub-committee is chaired by Dr. Jamal Al Saleh, Director, Medical Affairs and Head of Department of Rheumatology, Dubai Hospital. This sub-committee is directly working under the guidance of the main Scientific Committee Chaired by Prof. Yousef M Abdulrazzaq, Emeritus Professor of Paediatrics and Neonatology, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University.

 

In line with the UAE strategic plans for continuously developing the health sector and fostering the latest technologies such as Artificial intelligence in diagnosis and treatment, Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare was chosen as the topic of the eleventh term, in collaboration with the UAE National Program for Artificial Intelligence.

 

The Award has selected AI in Healthcare, AI in Genomics, AI in Diagnostics and AI in Therapeutics as topics for the International Awards - Grand Hamdan International Award and Hamdan Award for Medical Research Excellence.

 

The Award has initiated the evaluation of nominations through a smart platform and a submission portal where nominees are able to submit their nomination documents and the evaluation can be done through the same platform. The shortlisted nominations are again evaluated by appointed external expertise through this platform in order to reach the final winners of the Awards. The deadline to submit the applications is the31st of March, 2020.

 

The Award Ceremony is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, 24th November, 2020 followed by 3 days of the 11th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences from 25-27 November, 2020.
