The 3rd Dubai International Academy of Dermatopathology and Dubai International Academy of Laser & Aesthetic Dermatology (DIAD-DIAL) inaugurated 13 February 2020
Dubai-13th February 2020: The activities of the third edition of the Dubai International Academy of Dermatopathology and Dubai International Academy of Laser & Aesthetic Dermatology (DIAD-DIAL) were lunched today at Al Habtour palace, Dubai.
The conference is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of the Dubai Health Authority, and will run in Dubai from the 13th to 15th of February 2020.
His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Hashemi, a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Award, stated during his opening speech that the conference is particularly important because it is the first of its kind to cover two main streams of the same specialty. The event brings together high-level dermatologists, pathologists, plastic surgeons, dermatopathologists and aesthetic specialists.
He also stressed that holding such conferences creates an excellent opportunity for physicians and all staff serving in the various health care sectors to exchange up-to-date knowledge in this field of medicine.
Dr.Fayza Al Ali, President of the conference said, “The first day was full of continuous participation and interactions with the professors, as new therapeutic methods in plastic and laser medicine were identified, in addition to high diagnostic skills in histological diagnosis of skin diseases”.
The activities of the first day of the conference included several sessions. On the side of the skin pathology, a number of doctors and professors reviewed various skin diseases. Professor Nigel Kirkham from the United Kingdom gave a lecture in the difficult area of melanocytic lesions, while Professor Omar Sanguiza gave a lecture on Emergencies in Dermatopathology.
In the group session, dermatologists reviewed a set of the most difficult cases that they experienced during their careers, while Dr. Irina Ivanovsky presented a workshop about Dermoscopy.
This was followed by a legal session delivered by Professor Mohammed Al-Suwaidi about cases that ended up in court.
On the other hand, the live workshops started in the morning, starting with a Master class presented by Dr. Ash Labib from Britain about non-surgical rhinoplasty, and Dr. Raj Acquilla presented a Master class on facial mapping, while Dr. Raj presented a session, in which she discussed patient wants in relation to patient needs. Dr. Giovanni from Italy gave a lecture about injection complications.
