Hamdan Medical Award Participates in the conference of issuing the Islamic Document of Ethics for Health Services Workers in Kuwait 17 December 2019
Kuwait-17th December 2019: Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences participated in the International Conference on Issuing the Islamic Document on Ethics for Health Workers.The conference was held under the patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and in cooperation with the Islamic Fiqh Academy in Jeddah and the Regional Office of the World Health Organization in Cairo, from the 15th to 17th December 2019 in Kuwait.
 
The participating delegation from the Award included His Excellency Mirza Al Sayegh, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Hashemi and His Excellency Abdullah Bin Sougat, Members of the Board of Trustees.
 
During his opening speech, His Excellency Basil Al-Sabah, Minister of Health, praised the great role played by the Award to upgrade the health sector in the region. He also extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, who patronized the award for his unlimited support to the activities of the Islamic Organization for Health Sciences.
 
In the speech delivered by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Hashemi at the opening ceremony, he conveyed the greetings and appreciation of H. H Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, patron of the Hamdan Medical Award, to the Organization for hosting this annual meeting, praising the role it plays for the good of the Islamic nation.
 
He thanked His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his sponsorship of this conference. He also thanked His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Basil Al-Sabah, the Minister of Health for his kindness in opening the conference’s activities.
 
He said that awareness of the ethical aspects of medical workers in the field of health services is an important component of raising the level of health care, and that this is confirmed by the values of our true Islamic religion, heritage and cultural mix of our Arab Islamic society and the internationally recognized principles in this field.
 
In order to ensure respect for the rights of all patients at the same time, it also guarantees the rights of all health care workers and promoting efficiency in the various activities of providing health services in general and health care services in general.
 
The conference included nine scientific sessions over a period of three days, during which the lecturers discussed a variety of topics in the field of health care ethics such as: Characteristics of ethics of health professions in Islam, health team duties towards society, and organ transplantation.
