Hamdan Medical Award meeting with the IGCS 07 October 2019
Dubai-7th october2019: Mr. Abdullah Bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, received a delegation from the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) at the headquarters of the Award in Dubai, with the presence of Dr. Roberto Angioli the representative of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society, Mary Eiken, IGCS CEO, the representative from Dubai tourism Ms. Tripti and Mr. Ajay from MCI.
 
The meeting aimed to discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides, as the society is planning to host their 2022 edition in Middle East and have shortlisted Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat and Istanbul as candidate cities.
 
During the meeting, His Excellency Abdullah Bin Souqat briefed the delegates on the various activities of the Award and reviewed the achievements of the Award, Mr. Abdulla clarify how the Award’s has been a partner for the Medical professionals for the past 20 years and he stressed on the readiness of Dubai to support the congress and the city‘s capabilities to host similar events and to fulfill the requirements.
 
Mr. Abdulla confirm that the Award is ready to support it by all means and we will be in contact to know the updates and help to submit a bidding file.
 
Dr. Roberto explained the plan of the society till 2022 as they plan to have the next edition in Rome while it will be in New York in 2021 and the criteria they are looking for in the hosting city such as the infrastructure, the local scientific partner Mary Eiken, the IGCS CEO, talked about the society activities in the world like  : Global Curriculum & Mentorship Program which is  An education and training program for low- and middle-income countries designed for regions around the world that do not currently have formal training in gynecologic oncology.
