Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum The Inauguration of the activities of (MEIDAM)

11th of August 2019: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Minister of Finance, AND President of Dubai Health Authority, the activities of the 4th Middle East International Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine Conference and Exhibition (MEIDAM 2019) will start in the Event Centre, InterContinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City, on the 19th of September. The program will be attended by representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), as part of the Give-Back Program (Atta’) launched by MEIDAM conference to initiate, promote and consolidate a culture of giving-back to the community among dermatologists. Also present will be heads of Arab and International Societies, as well as Prof. Omar Al Rawas, Secretary General of The Arab League Council of Arab Health Ministers - The Arab Board of Health Specializations.
The conference shall last until the 21st of the month and is anticipated to attract 1,500 Physicians and HealthCare Professionals from different parts of the world.
The President of MEIDAM Conference, Dr. Khaled Al Nuaimi, indicated that the conference in its fourth edition, shall witness the launch of several new medicines in the field of biological treatments, acute chronic eczema, and alopecia, to name a few. Moreover, the Conference shall showcase state-of-the-art laser devices. He also stated that international companies have become more and more interested in Dubai market as a major hub, and an entry point to the global markets, due to the strategic position of the Emirate that connects East and West, in light of the fact that this particular market is growing between 7.5 and 10% annually.
Dr. Al Nuaimi pointed out that a training workshop for junior doctors shall be held two days ahead of the conference, on the 17th and 18th of September, under the supervision of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS). During the Conference days, a special seminar will be conducted on the development of commercial medical work, supervised by specialists in the commercial medical sector, besides numerous workshops on the use of laser devices.
On the other hand, His Excellency Mr. Abdulla Bin Souqat, the Executive Director of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, highlighted the fact that the significant attendance and participation of the Dermatological Societies along with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the presence of elite and key-opinion-leaders in the field of Dermatology, shall give a clear indication of the major significance that MEIDAM Conference has attained globally, due to the scientific papers and the showcasing of up-to-date research and studies concerned with skin diseases.
Bin Souqat extended his sincerest gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, President of the Dubai Health Authority, and the patron of the Award, for his Highness’ permanent directives to all the scientific activities aiming at enhancing and promoting the medical sector. Bin Souqat also thanked His Excellency AbdulRahman Bin Mohamed Al Owais, Cabinet Member and Minister of Health and Prevention, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, Chairman of the Board of the Award for his continuous keenness for promoting and supporting the Award’s educational activities and programs.
Bin Souqat highlighted that the Award support for the conference came in line with the wise directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, President of Dubai Health Authority for the continuous support and advancement of the medical education with the objective of granting the nationals doctors and the participants of the conference access to international expertise to sharpen and enhance their capabilities both scientifically and practically.
He also added that the decision of the Award to support a particular conference is not random, rather it comes after undertaking careful and thorough evaluation of the scientific papers presented at the conference, as well as the level of the lecturers, and the anticipated number of participants from inside and outside the country. He emphasized the willingness of the Award to support any conference that met the standards and criteria put by the Award, with the aim of giving the national doctors access to the international expertise at first hand, through direct contact with the international experts.
