Dubai-1st October, 2018: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, President of Dubai Health Authority, and in cooperation with the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, Dubai will host the 3rd Middle East International Dermatology & Aesthetic Medicine Conference & Exhibition (MEIDAM) from the 4th to 6th of October, 2018. More than 1200 specialists from around the world are expected to participate in the event, which will be held at the InterContinental Hotel in Dubai.
Dr. Khaled Al Nuaimi, Consultant Dermatologist from UAE, and President of MEIDAM said that the conference will highlight the latest developments and innovations related to skin diseases, exchange experiences and visions and discuss all what is recent in the world of skin and beauty through 85 lectures and 20 scientific sessions. This is in addition to the workshops that will be conducted simultaneously; 19; on modern equipment and techniques, and 13 on clinical topics. The presentations will be delivered by a total of 85 Faculty; 31 of them international, 32 from the Gulf and Middle East and 22 from the United Arab Emirates. Dr. Al Nuaimi said that the humanitarian initiative "We Care" will be launched during the conference, which will provide free medical assistance and consultation for deserving people with special needs. The initiative aims to help and support families with special needs’ members and this initiative is supported by many doctors from different disciplines.
Dr. Saad Sami Al Sogair, Consultant Dermatologist and Surgeon from KSA, and Vice President of the Conference, said that during the inaugural session, the name of the winner of the Pioneer Award will be announced for this year. The Award will honour a senior specialist and expert who has contributed significantly to the development of the field of dermatology and plastic surgery in the Middle East. The Pioneer Award is an attempt to position MEIDAM as a bridge between the glorious past experiences and enlightening future aspirations. Dr. Al Sogair added that this year's conference will witness a number of specialized workshops under the supervision of international experts informing about the latest developments in the techniques of laser and plasma in dermatology and beauty, and the latest methods of treatment and resistance to aging and complex skin diseases, in the presence of world renowned experts, doctors and nurses, pioneers in the fields who will share experiences, discuss the latest developments and keep abreast of what is new in effective therapies, newest equipment and best practices and standards worldwide. MEIDAM also aims at supporting science in general and scientific researches and the innovation sector in the UAE, which will help to develop distinguished local talents in the field of dermatology, aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery.
His Excellency Mr. Abdulla Bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, emphasized His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid’s keenness to support and encourage specialized and dedicated medical conferences as a key and major element of the continuous medical education process. Mr. Bin Souqat added that the Award assesses and weighs the scientific value of the papers to be discussed during the conference, stressing that the award always takes into account the benefit and return to our medical community and doctors in various health institutions and establishments in the region. The aim is to benefit from the developments and learn about new and innovative techniques and therapies in the world of dermatology and aesthetic medicine through experts from China, The United States of America, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe. The remarkable diversity of participants' experiences, multi-cultural and different scientific backgrounds will greatly contribute to enriching the participants’ knowledge and experiences with the latest updates on the international dermatological scene.
A medical exhibition will take place on the sidelines of the conference, where more than 10 leading industry players will showcase their latest devices, medical equipment and products all related to dermatology and aesthetic medicine.
