Launching of the 14th Emirates Critical Care Conference next Thursday in Dubai: top-ranked conference across the Middle East and Africa, and the fourth worldwide 01 April 2018

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of the Dubai Health Authority, the Emirates Intensive Care Society, with the support of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, is making preparations for the 14th Emirates Critical Care Conference taking place next Thursday, April 5th, at the InterContinental, Dubai Festival City. Between 1800 and 2000 medical professionals from over 56 countries will be attending the conference.

ECCC coincides with 6 conferences taking place this week

Dr. Hussain Nasser Al Rahma, President of the Emirates Intensive Care Society and conference Chairman, stated that ECCC has been praised as the best conference specialized in intensive care across Asia and Africa. It has also been accredited by 35 societies and associations within the healthcare sector. This year’s conference will focus on developments in treatment, and workshops will be held exhibiting cutting-edge technologies used in intensive care units and in the management of neurological conditions.

Dr. Al Rahma added that the conference has 212 registered attendees from 56 countries, and 63 published studies will be discussed among 280 lectures in 10 lecture halls. The conference has been accredited with 61 hours of continuing medical education. A workshop discussing non-surgical bronchial implantations will be held, and it is the first workshop of its kind to take place in the UAE. Additional workshops will center on the utility of ultrasound in intensive care practice, the importance of health service management, and muscle resuscitation after strokes.

He continued, “The conference shall discuss how far medical science has progressed and its implications for treatment developments for various issues targeted by intensive care, including cardiovascular crises, deep vein thrombosis, nerve conditions, pediatric illnesses, chronic pain, hematologic and lymphatic disorders, tumors, kidney dysfunction, respiratory failure, nursing, nutrition and pharmacy. Furthermore, training sessions will demonstrate the developments in the use of ventilation and heart resuscitation systems in intensive care units.

His Excellency Abdulla Bin Souqat, Executive Manager of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award, remarked that Dubai has become a global

platform within which such conferences and workshops can be held, and ECCC provides the opportunity for medical professionals to exchange information and expertise and receive the latest updates on treatment.

His Excellency added that the Award’s support for medical conferences in general is part of its mission of continual development and progress in the medical sciences, continuing medical education, which also ties in to one of the UAE Government’s top priorities, and that is to continually improve healthcare services in the nation.
