Launch of the 8th Annual Conference on Cardiovascular Diseases 04 February 2018

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Health Authority with the support of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, the 8th Annual Conference on Cardiovascular Diseases will be held from 16 to 17 February 2018, at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center in Dubai Healthcare City The conference is co-organized by Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic in collaboration with the UAE Heart Association.

The two-day conference aims at consolidating the principle of interest in the development of medical staff and to create an incubator environment for experts and specialists in order to develop health services for all segments of society One of the most important features of this conference is the presentation of all the topics in the form of realistic situations, which encourages participation and dialogue among members of the discussion and attendance committee, Speakers include Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic in the United States and a group of leading cardiologists from the state.

On his part HE Abdullah Bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, said that the support of the award for this conference comes within the framework of the directions of HH Sheikh Hamdan, the sponsor of the award. He added that one of the most important priorities of the award is to support outstanding medical events with direct results to improve the level of health services for citizens, especially cardiovascular disease.

It should be mentioned that the most important topics to be discussed during the conference are the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease as in cases of dysfunction of the left ventricle and associated with multiple vascular diseases, review existing recommendations for the use of anticoagulants and thrombocytopenia in various medical conditions, such as atrial fibrillation and atrial dystrophy heart attacks, and the role of preventive cardiac medicine and emerging treatments for blood lipid level disorders, in addition to discussing the new therapeutic interventions and their results in cases of heart disease This is done by presenting cases of patients with mitral reflux and evaluating different treatment methods using surgery or others.

The results and complications resulting from the replacement of the aortic valve by catheterization will also be discussed along with valve implants and focusing on how to treat heart failure. Also discussed will be the role of medical teams’ approach in dealing with these cases, in addition to electrical physiology and pacemakers as in the cases of early ventricular constriction.

The conference aims to attract health care workers who play a role in caring for patients with heart disease, including cardiologists, cardiologists, internists and resident physicians, doctors and nurses, and staff in the field of supportive medical services in the care of cardiovascular patients.
