Battash, the hero of Sandown 09 July 2017

H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of finance, attended the coral charge race in Sandown to witness the crowning of Battash, owned by H.H, as horserace champion for third category for the distance 1000 meter for 3 year old horses.

This is the second consecutive win during the same year, as Battash had already won the 1000 meter Leicester race in June 2017.

The first place was led by jockey Dean O’Neil under the supervision of Charles Hills, recording a time of 58.57 seconds, while Mizra Ali with jockey Steve levy and under the supervision of Ray Gusset, came in second,  3 lengths  and a quarter  behind. Third place went to was for Gold Reem with jockey Martin Harley and coach Robert Cowell.

The fourth place was for Mothmer, which also owned by Sheikh Hamdan, led by jockey Jim Crowley and under the supervision of William Hags. Sheikh Hamdan received the award at the end of the race amid loud applause from the audience.

H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum said in a statement to Dubai racing channel that Battash had shown  great potential during the races, praising his outstanding effort which made him worthy of winning.

During the interview, H.H also announced that the next aspect for the hero will be participating in the second category race during judo festival next August.
