H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum witnesses the Canadian University Dubai graduation ceremony 28 April 2017
28 April 2017 - Under the patronage and in the attendance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, the Canadian University Dubai celebrated the graduation of 430 undergraduate and graduate students from across the spectrum of the university’s 40 program offerings in Business Administration, Public Health and Health Sciences, Engineering and Applied Science & Technology, Architecture and Design, and Communication and Media Studies.
The student speaker for the event, Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who was graduating from the School of Business Administration, delivered some words to his fellow graduates.  He hailed the UAE’s leaders for laying a strong foundation for the nation’s growth, based on the principle of embracing all cultures and religions in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.
Addressing the parents of the young graduates, Sheikh Maktoum lauded their role in helping their children reach this proud stage, and assured them that they would never let them down. He also thanked the Canadian University Dubai for imparting high-value education to its students.
The University’s Vice Chancellor and President, Dr. Karim Chelli said: “Our University now boasts more than 3,000 students from 120 nationalities. So this ceremony is not just the celebration of our graduates and their momentous achievement, but also our mission and vision to unite cultures and continents through education.  The fact that our graduation has attracted such prestigious guests from around the world, guests who are leaders in academics and leaders in government, is testament to our commitment to providing our students with a high quality education and the links and experience they need to succeed here in the UAE, in Canada or anywhere else their career paths take them”.
Attended the ceremony was H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development for the UAE, the Canadian Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Masud Husain, a galaxy of prestigious international guests, and the University’s Board of Trustees.
