Hamdan Medical Award takes part in the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference and Exhibition "DIHAD" 22 March 2017
UAE, Dubai - Wednesday, March 22, 2017: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences takes part in the 14th Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD 2017) which is held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
 
Abdullah Bin Souqat, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Award, spoke about the importance of DIHAD whose current edition is centered on the Impact of Crisis and Disasters on Children. “DIHAD could coordinate the international efforts to alleviate the suffering of children, who are the most affected from crises and disasters in many countries all over the world”, he said.
 
“As being held with the participation of about 600 organizations and institutions from 84 countries, DIHAD is a good opportunity for the marketing of the Hamdan International Award for Volunteers in Humanitarian Medical Services; one of the important medical awards of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum”, he said.
 
“Through its interactive stand in the exhibition, the speakers, participants and visitors have become more familiar with the rules and regulations of nomination for this award which is given to 4 winners; 2 personalities and 2 institutions”.
 
“We have collected many nominations and they will be submitted to the concerned scientific committees to select the winners of the 10th term”.
 
“18 years ago, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the UAE Minister of Finance, launched the Hamdan International Award for Volunteers in Humanitarian Medical Services to be one of the most important initiatives aiming at stimulating the humanitarian work in order to alleviate suffering of people who are affected by crises and disasters all over the world”.
 
“With the spread of wars and disasters in many countries and the increasing numbers of their victims, this award supports the developing process of the exerted efforts in this field according to the best international practices and standards”.
 
“Throughout 19 years, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences honored in 9 terms 31 individuals and institutions that enriched the humanitarian and charitable work all over the world”.
