The 13th Emirates Obs-Gyne & Fertility Forum starts its activities in Dubai 19 January 2017

Under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development and the Honorable Chairman of the UAE Genetic Diseases Association, and supported by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (HMA); Abdullah bin Souqat, a member of the Board of Trustees of HMA, inaugurated the 13th Emirates Obs-Gyne & Fertility Forum (EOFF 2017) at Al Rowda Al Bustan Hotel, Dubai.

In his opening speech, Abdulla Bin Souqat said: “Throughout 13 years, the forum has succeeded in consolidating its position on the scientific arena to become one of important educational and training activities that presents the latest advances in this field for specialists.

“It is very important in this conference to announce that the UAE will be the hosting country of the theoretical part of the Diploma in Reproductive Medicine. This diploma is approved from the Sheffield University, UK, and held in cooperation with Cairo University, Egypt”.  

 

“Supporting the conference comes in line with the directives of the patron of the award, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance, and the President of Dubai Health Authority. Supporting the continuing medical education and community service programs come on the top priorities of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan, as well as honoring medical excellence, and supporting scientific research through the award’s Center for Arab Genomic Studies, and the Hamdan Medical Journal”.

During the opening ceremony of the EOFF 2017, Dubai was announced as the country to host the theoretical part of the Diploma in Reproductive Medicine.

Within this context, Professor Hisham Al Anani from the University of Cairo announced the details of the diploma whose practical part will be held at the Cairo University. “The diploma will start in the month of April and lasts until November, with the participation of at the latest 30 specialists and consultants in each batch.

During the opening ceremony, the pioneer of pediatric within the UAE, Dr. Abdullah Al Khayat, received the award of the distinctive personality in giving.

Also, 3 researchers received the award of the best article published in the scientific journal of the conference (EOFF) namely; Dr. Taha Umbeli, Dr. Atif Fazari, and Dr. Human Fatemi, the medical director at the University of Brussels.

As for the award of giving in service of health and community, in the category of nursing, it has been given to Camilla Leonara, from the DHA.

From media, the conference has honored 3 journalists namely; Imad Abdul-Hamid, from Al-Bayan newspaper, Iman Abdullah Al Ali, from Al Khaleej newspaper, and Said Shalash, from Zahrat Al Khaleej magazine.
