Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development and the Honorable Chairman of the UAE Genetic Diseases Association, and supported by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences; the launch of the 13th Emirates Obs-Gyne & Fertility Forum will be this Thursday, at Al Rowda Al Bustan hotel, Dubai. Throughout 3 days, and with the attendance of 1000 physicians, the lectures of the conference will be presented by 23 specialists from various scientific schools from the United states of America (USA), Australia, Italy, France, Germany, Britain, India, Qatar, UAE, Egypt and Sudan.
Abdullah bin Souqat, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, stated that the award’s support for the conference comes within its unremitting efforts in enhancing the continuing medical education locally and regionally, with the aim of developing the specialists’ professional performance.
“Woman's health is a priority of the award for her vital role in the society progress in all fields and on all levels”.
“Throughout 13 sequent sessions, the conference has succeeded as a scientific platform for shedding light on the most recent discoveries in this field of medicine”.
“The conference presents a number of innovative educational initiatives for specialists from inside and outside the UAE”, he said.
On the other side, Dr. Awatif Al Bahar, Senior Consultant for Obstetrics/Gynecology and Fertility and the head of the conference; said that the scientific program of the conference has been accredited from the Dubai Health Authority by 39 CME hours.
“The conference includes 33 scientific lectures and 3 workshops discussing the recent developments in such significant medical specialization including preventive medicine to protect women's fertility, Gynecological diseases among adolescent females, detecting infection of the pregnant with zika virus, role of genes in recurrent miscarriages for fetuses (recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL)), examining the DNA in fetuses through the mother, Critical cases inside the delivery room, and Endometriosis and Endoscopic Surgery in Obstetrics and Gynecology”.
“The conference sheds light on issues which requires more concern from specialists in the Arab countries such as woman's mental health in Obstetrics and Gynecology”.
“During pregnancy and after delivery, women may suffer from psychiatric disorders and they should be observed by specialized physicians”.
Additionally, Dr. Awatif Al Bahar talked about one of the most significant workshop in the conference in which resident physicians and postgraduate students will know how to deal with emergency cases at delivery rooms such as severe postpartum hemorrhage cases, difficulty in delivering the newborn baby, and explosion of uterine rupture.
“Those who will pass the exam, to be held after this workshop, will receive the ALSO certificate which is accredited from the American Academy of Physicians”.
“Family Planning is the title of a workshop to be held for the first time in the UAE, in order to educate physicians on the hormones implantation under skin for contraception, which has recently been approved by UAE Ministry of Health”.
“Penta-dimensional ultrasound during pregnancy period is the topic of another workshop in the conference”.
