Hamdan Medical Award supports the 5th Biennial Emirates Physiotherapy Conference 22 May 2016
Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, and supported by Hamdan Medical Award, the Emirates Physiotherapy Society organized the 5th Biennial Emirates Physiotherapy Conference (Physio Dubai 2016) from the 17th till the 20th of May 2016 at Jumeirah Emirates Towers.
 
The conference was held in cooperation with the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Health Authorities, the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, the Dubai Sports Council, and the World Federation for Physical Therapy, and attended by around 500 orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists and neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, sports physicians, rehabilitation & health care professionals from the US, Italy, Ireland, UK, Belgium, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and South Africa.
 
Through 39 lectures and 5 workshops with 27 CME hours accredited from the UAE Ministry of Health, the conference discussed the latest findings in management of pain, especially the back, shoulder, foot, and ankle pain.
 
Abdullah bin Souqat, a member of the board of trustees of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum award for Medical Sciences, announced that the award’s support for the PysioDubai 2016 comes within its tireless efforts to improve the performance of health sector professionals in various specialties.
 
“The Award pays particular attention to those medical disciplines which need further efforts in order to attract more citizens, and to develop the skills of their specialists”, he added.
