H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid inaugurates the expansion of Rashid Hospital, and launches the new medical insurance system 19 April 2016
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance, and the President of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), has inaugurated the new expansion of Rashid Hospital, and launched the new medical insurance system in Dubai.
 
On this occasion, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan gave his directives to the officials of the DHA regarding the importance of accepting the healthcare insurance cards, issued by the private insurance companies, at all the DHA’s health and medical facilities, and giving their holders all services they need.
 
Also, during his inspection tour in the departments of Rashid Hospital, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid said that the medical, therapeutic and pharmaceutical facilities at the DHA keep up with the developments in the global healthcare sectors with the highest quality of the provided healthcare services, in line with the witnessed quantum leap in all sectors within the UAE”.
 
The expansion of the Rashid Hospital accommodates a total of 66 beds in the second floor for intensive care units, including internal medicine, neurosurgery and general surgery. Also, the third floor includes 93 beds for men’s general surgery, and specialized surgeries such as the Orthopaedic Surgery.
 
Attended the opening ceremony of the new expansion of Rashid Hospital are H.E. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, the UAE Minister of Health and Prevention, H.E. Humaid Bin Mohammad Al Qatami, the Chairman of the Board and Director-General of Dubai Health Authority, and a number of the hospital’s managers and staff.
