Hamdan Medical Award supports the Esophageal Reflux Conference and the accompanying Awareness Campaign

Under the patronage and the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, and supported by the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, the Esophageal Reflux Conference and the accompanying awareness campaign were inaugurated at the Intercontinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed al-Hashemi, a member of the award’s Board of Trustees, and H.E. Abdullah Bin Souqat, the Executive Director, along with 300 doctors, specialists, and researchers in the field of gastroenterology.
With concluding the campaign, which was held for 3 consecutive days, Dr. Ali Al Fazzari, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the conference and the campaign, and the chairman of Emirates Digestive Diseases Group, expressed his gratitude to the Hamdan Medical Award as one of the strategic partners for these two events.
“The campaign has succeeded in reaching a large segment of the society including the visitors of the Mirdif City Centre, Dubai, Mega Mall, Sharjah, Al Dhaid Cultural Center, and Khorfakkan Cultural Center. The public were acquainted on the nature of the disease in addition to the symptoms, complications, and treatment”, he said.
The campaign included a number of activities such as how to prepare the traditional UAE dishes in healthy way, by the Emirati Chef Khulood Atiq, by reducing fat, meat and sugar and replacing them with healthy alternatives.
