Hamdan Medical Award supports the 11th Emirates Critical Care Conference 12 April 2015
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Health Authority, and supported by the Hamdan Medical Award, the 11th Emirates Critical Care Medicine was held in conjunction with the 7th Asia Africa Conference of the World Federation of Societies of Intensive Care and Critical Care Medicine and the 11th International Pan Arab Critical Care Medicine Society Conference at the Event Center, Dubai Festival City.
 
Organized by the Emirates Intensive Care Medicine in collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority and the International Pan Arab Critical Care Medicine Society, Eng Issa Al Maidour, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hamdan Medical Award opened the conference.
 
During the opening ceremony, HE Engineer Essa Al Maidour received from Dr. Reinhart Konrad, the Chairman of the Global Sepsis Alliance, the alliance’s award for 2015 in the governments and health authorities’ category. The award was given to the DHA in recognition of its efforts in implementing several important initiatives and programs to combat infections and blood poisoning and to reduce the number of the resulted deaths.
 
The 3-days conference included 38 scientific sessions, 220 lectures, 7 workshops and 6 training courses. Among the 135 keynote speakers, 120 speakers were from the World Health Organization and the heads and members of the intensive care societies in many countries all over the world.
