Hamdan Medical Award discusses supporting the continuing medical education with the Dubai Health Authority 24 March 2015
Mr. Abdullah bin Souqat, the Executive Director of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, discussed with Dr. Jamila al Sheikh, the Director of the Department of Medical Education, Dubai Health Authority, strengthening the bonds of mutual cooperation concerning the continuing medical education and scientific research.
 
During the meeting, which held at the award’s headquarter, the two sides discussed the continuing medical education programs from a new perspective in which the role of this education is not limited to the development of the performance of the healthcare sector professionals, but extends to encourage them to pay more attention to the scientific research. Also, the results of the scientific research should be considered while planning for the continuing medical education programs.
 
“The scientific research has become one of the main pillars for developing the healthcare services in the UAE in order to be among the most attractive countries for the medical tourism in the region”, Abdulla Bin Souqat said.
 
“The history of the Award for more than 16 years in supporting the continuing medical education and scientific research locally and regionally, has succeeded in building effective partnerships with local, regional and global institutions and played a vital role in developing the performance of healthcare professional and improving the provided medical services”, he added.
