During the opening of the 12th Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship and the 11th edition of the Dubai International Horse Fair in Dubai 2015, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, unveiled the "Smart Saddle”, the new invention by the Emirati inventor Ahmed Majan, at Dubai World Trade Center.

 

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the solar- powered invention which measures the horse's heart rate and the weight of the rider. Also, the “Smart Saddle” is equipped with a compass, a cooler to keep the temperature of the bodies of the horses in hot weather or during running or jumping, a camera to keep track of its movement and a light-signals device automatically works in darkness.

 

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan praised the new invention as an addition to the equestrian sports promotes the UAE's presence at the international forums, stressing the keenness of the UAE to create conducive environment for the gifted to motivate their creativity.
