Hamdan Medical Award sponsors the medical conference for dermatology in Egypt 27 October 2014

Sponsored by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the First Medical Conference for Dermatology was held for two days in Cairo International Convention Center, Egypt, under the theme "Health is beauty", with the participation of about 200 doctors.

During the opening ceremony, the conference organizers praised the efforts of the UAE leadership in supporting the UAE - Egypt ties, and the initiatives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and the patron of the Award to develop the health sectors all over the region.

Dr. Ahmed al-Hashemi, a member of the Board of Trustees of Hamdan Medical Award, delivered the award’s speech and conveyed H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum greetings to the participants wishing them all the success.

Dr. Ahmed Al Hashimi pointed out to the strong ties between the two countries established by H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and resumed by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the members of the Supreme Council, the rulers of the Emirates, and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, as well as the leadership of the Arab Republic of Egypt, led by the president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, the Prime Minister.

“Sponsoring the conference reflects the important role of the award in improving the medical services according to the highest international standards locally, regionally and internationally”, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hashimi added.

“This ambitious vision has been achieved on the ground through the five centers of the award namely, the Awards Center, Center for Arab Genomic Studies, Research Support Center, Publications Center and CME Centre”, he said.

“The continuing medical education is on the top priorities of the award as one of the most important channel to promote the performance of healthcare professionals in all medical disciplines, through the exchange of experiences among the specialists all over the world on the latest medical studies”, Dr. Al Hashimi added.

“The UAE - Egypt ties is a deeply-rooted relationship in all fields and at all levels. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences is keen on supporting the mutual cooperation between the two countries in the health sectors, and I hope the conference will be a real starting point towards further cooperation in the future for the benefit for all”, he said.
