Hamdan Medical Award discusses the mutual cooperation with the House of Lords 30 September 2014

Mr. Abdullah bin Souqat, Executive Director of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, received the Baroness Manzoor, a member of the House of Lords, UK, accompanied by Ahmed Obaid Al Mansouri, a member of the Federal National Council at the headquarters of the Award in Bur Dubai.

Abdullah bin Souqat said that the visit comes within the framework of the official visit by a delegation from the British House of Lords to the UAE in order to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the two countries at all levels.

“During the meeting, I have touched the keenness of the members of the House of Lords to get acquainted closely with the UAE experiences in the medical and administrative fields and to work on enhancing the ways of communication and experiences exchange”, Bin Souqat added.

The meeting dealt with the healthcare system in the UAE, the adoption of the best standards to provide significant services, and the policy of the healthcare insurance in the UAE and the cooperation between the official authorities and the medical institutions in this field.

Also, the guests were briefed on the activities of the Hamdan Medical Award and its efforts at all of the local, regional and international levels aiming at improving the healthcare services including supporting the scientific research and medical publishing, honoring the significant healthcare professionals all over the world and shedding light on the vital medical specialties through the topics of each term.

The guests praised the Award’s global reputation as a unique international institution, and expressed their willingness to strengthen the cooperation between the award and the official British authorities in the near future.
