H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid heads the UAE delegation to the meetings of the Islamic Development Bank 26 June 2014
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance headed the UAE delegation to the Meetings of the Board of Governors of Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB Group), held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and attended by the representatives of 56 states, members of the Board of Governors. 
 
On the occasion of celebrating the 40th anniversary of the IDB, a ceremony was held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and attended by Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. During the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan delivered a speech in which he expressed his pride in the progress and diversity of the IDB activities that had positive impact on the development of member states. 
 
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan talked about the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), citing the successes scored by the IDB over the last 40 years and efforts exerted to craft it in the map of international development. 
During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum has witnessed the signing of a partnership renewal agreement between the U.A.E. and the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah. 
 
Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, who was representing the Dubai based International Centre for Bio-Saline Agriculture (ICBA), signed the agreement with Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali Al-Madani, President of the Islamic Development Bank. 
 
The signing of the five-year agreement means the Jeddah-based bank and the ICBA will continue in their partnership and cooperation in bio-saline land cultivation and research in the field of agriculture.
