H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid praises the cooperation with UNESCO 28 January 2014
Within the framework of the announcement of the names of the winners of UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and the patron of Hamdan Award for Distinguished Academic Performance, received H.E. Edam Odubra, representative of UNESCO and the jury of UNESCO-Hamdan prize at Zabeel Palace. The reception was attended by H.E. Humaid Mohamed Al Qatami, UAE Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hamdan Award for Distinguished Academic Performance, and the members of the award’s board. 
 
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid mentioned to the UNESCO- Hamdan prize as one of the important initiatives that aims to encourage teachers and the innovation outstanding practices in the field of education. 
 
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan expressed his satisfaction with the international reputation achieved by the prize over 3 cycles, its spread on the continental level and its access to its right position.
“The 156 participating institutions from different continents and the advanced level of the wining practices gave us a sense of admiration and satisfaction with the level of interest in the applied value of the prize and its importance to the targeted categories based on their faith in prize’s goals and their confidence in the way it works”, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan stated. 
  
“We congratulate the winners, and encourage all participants with creative initiatives; it was wonderful job done by all candidates, adjudication committees and work teams; they deserve praise and appreciation”, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid said.
 
H.E. Humaid Al Qatami, UAE Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hamdan Award for the distinguished practices announced the names of the winners of UNESCO-Hamdan prize in its third session namely; “Oxfam Novib International” project of Angola and Mali, “Broad Foundation” project of Panama, and the project “SOS Village d’Enfants” of Madagascar.
 
H.E. Edam Odubra, representative of UNESCO and the jury of UNESCO-Hamdan prize expressed the UNESCO’s gratitude and appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan for his contribution in support of education through the generous and valuable educational initiative that has contributed to the movement of promoting opportunities to improve the learning environment and guiding efforts of teachers to creative practices in order to provide quality education which is an important element in achieving the goals of education for all by 2015.
 
It is worth mentioning that the total value of the prize is U.S. $ 270,000. The headquarters of the UNESCO in Paris will host the ceremony of delivering the prize the three winning countries in October 2014 in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid AL Maktoum the sponsor of the Prize.
