H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid opens Middle East Electricity and Solar Middle East 12 February 2014
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance has opened Middle East Electricity and Solar Middle East (11 – 13 February) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre with the participation of 1200 companies.
 
“The growing demand on participating in such exhibitions reflects the significant growth witnessed by the electricity and solar energy sectors regionally, particularly in the UAE, and emphasizes the strategic location of Dubai as the gateway to the energy markets in the Middle East, Africa and Asia”, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid said.
 
This year's show includes holding the Green Energy Conference and the Solar Middle East Conference which cover sustainability within the energy sector and the delivery of solar projects in the Middle East, allowing industry leaders to establish new strategies to reduce the region's carbon footprint.
 
The opening ceremony was attended by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Engineer Essa Al Maidour, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority and president of the Society of Engineers in the UAE and a galaxy of the UAE officials.
