H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid receives Jimmy Carter 23 January 2014
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and the Patron of Hamdan Medical Award received Jimmy Carter, the former US President and Chairman of Carter Foundation, and the accompanying delegation at Zabeel Palace.
 
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of humanitarian issues and the role of the charity and medical institutions in helping needy people in various regions in the world, particularly the Third World.
 
Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the terms and objectives of the agreement signed between the Carter Foundation and Noor Dubai Foundation to launch a treatment campaign for 18 million patients with trachoma in the Republic of Ethiopia.
 
The meeting was attended by Eng. Issa Al Maidoor, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hamdan Medical Award, Mirza Al Sayegh and Dr. Ahmed Al Hashimi, the members of the Award’s board of trustees, Prof. Najib Al Khaja, Secretary General, and a number of officials from the Carter Foundation and Noor Dubai Foundation.
