Within the cooperation between Hamdan Medical Award & Montpellier University: 36 anesthetists perform the exam of the Diploma in Regional Anesthesia and Analgesia in Dubai 24 June 2013

Organized by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences in collaboration with the University of Montpellier1, France, the final exam for the 3rd batch of the Diploma in Regional Anesthesia and Analgesia has been performed by 36 anesthetists from the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Iraq and Iran at the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center in Dubai Healthcare City.

Abdullah Bin Souqat, Executive Director of Hamdan Medical Award, said: "Passing the examination is a prerequisite to obtain the Diploma which is approved by the University of Montpellier1, France. During their participation in the 6-months scientific program, the students of the Diploma attended 64 lectures and a ten-days clinical training course at Lapeyronie Hospital, France, or at Rashid Hospital, Dubai, which is officially certified by University of Montpellier1 as the first World Training Centre for Anesthesiology in the Middle East.

"In 2011, Hamdan Medical Award launched the Diploma in Regional Anesthesia and Analgesia in the UAE with the aim of enhancing the professional performance of the Anesthesiologists regionally and internationally, especially those who may find it is difficult to travel to France to complete their studies on the latest findings in that specialization, he added.>

"69 anesthetists from many countries all over the world have been graduated from the Diploma. Also, there are doctors on the waiting list who will participate in the 4th session of the Diploma scheduled to begin by the next January and extend until June 2014", Bin Souqat said.
