Hamdan Medical Award witnesses the opening ceremony of the 2nd Bilateral Cooperation Meeting between the GCC Countries and Turkey 19 June 2013

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences witnessed the opening ceremony of the 2nd Bilateral Cooperation Meeting in Health Field between GCC Countries and Republic of Turkey which is hosted by the UAE from 18 to 20 June at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai. 

 

The meeting was opened by H.E. Abdul Rahman Al Owais, UAE Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Award, with the attendance of Dr. Abdullah bin Aqla Al Hashem, Assistant Secretary-General for Human and Environment, Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Civic Vural Altay, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in the UAE, and the participated delegates.

Following the opening ceremony, Abdullah bin Souqat, Executive Director of Hamdan Medical Award, pointed out to the importance of this meeting which aims at strengthening the mutual Gulf-Turkish cooperation and crystallizing joint projects and programs in the light of the available advantages in the field of medicine.

Also, on the sidelines of the meeting, HMA participated in the accompanying exhibition with the participation of 25 private hospitals in the UAE. The UAE Minister of Health and the delegates has been briefed on the excellent infrastructure in the field of health in the UAE, which is considered a basic pillar towards a better medical tourism in the future. Also, they were briefed on the activities of the Award which aim at improving the provided healthcare services in the health institutions and authorities locally and regionally.
