In collaboration with Montpellier (1) University, France: Hamdan Award resumes Regional Anesthesia and Analgesia Diploma in Dubai 08 February 2012
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences has resumed, yesterday, the Intensive course for the students of the second batch of Regional Anesthesia and Analgesia Diploma, by Montpellier (1) University, France. The 3-days sessions are held at the conference center in Knowledge Village, Dubai, with participation of 38 doctors from United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Switzerland, Cyprus and Philippines.
 
Dr. Philip Macaire Senior Consultant in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Rashid Hospital and a Co-Director of the Diploma said that according to the approved program by Montpellier (1) University, France, the scientific program of the Diploma includes a monthly 3-days intensive scientific sessions for six months.
 
He pointed out that the scientific program of the Diploma, for current month, includes workshops hands on live models on the advanced techniques of peripheral nerves blocks and axial blocks under ultrasound guidance.
 
"The workshops deal with the post operative pain management and the new concepts in term of acute and chronic pain therapies. Video conferences is included, to discuss many topics under study with professors at University of Montpellier (1)", he added. 
 
It should be noted that the Graduation Ceremony for 31 doctors, the first batch of the Diploma, was held last month by the Award in the presence of a group of health sector’s officials and representatives from Faculty of Medicine, Montpellier (1) University, France.
