Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing honors Hamdan Medical Award 04 June 2013

Dubai Convention and events Bureau, affiliated to the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), honored Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (HMA) in recognition of its role in marketing Dubai as a world business destination. This came during the Al Safeer Annual Recognition Event held by the Dubai Convention and events Bureau at the JW Marriott Marquis, with the participation of 22 honorees and a number of the representatives of the governmental departments, private companies and associations within the UAE.

During the ceremony, Abdullah Bin Souqat, Executive Director of HMA, received the certificate of honoring from Helal Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. In his speech, Al Marri emphasized on the keenness of the DTCM on strengthening its relationships with the UAE bodies and institutions to work collectively in marketing the privileged position of Dubai as an international business destination in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.

"I am so happy for such honoring. HMA has an outstanding role in organizing events, conferences and training programs approved from the outstanding world institutions in Dubai. Such events contribute to the enrichment of the business tourism and then raising the UAE national income", Abdullah bin Souqat said.

"In December 2012, HMA organized the 7th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences and the Awards Ceremony at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre with the participation of a galaxy of scientists and physicians from around the world. Currently, the Award's Center for Arab Genomic Studies is getting ready to hold the 5th Pan Arab Human Genetics Conference in November", Bin Souqat added.
