HMA's Research Support Centre starts evaluating 60 research projects 06 May 2012
Recently, the scientific committee of Hamdan Medical Award’s Research Support Centre held a meeting to discuss the process of the initial evaluation of 60 research proposals, received by the award during its 7th term 2011-2012, at Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University, Al Ain.
 
The attendees agreed on completing the 1st stage of the evaluation process by the end of the current month, preparing for the next stage which will be entrusted to a panel of International Reviewers. 
 
During the meeting, Prof. Sehamuddin Galadari, Chairman of the Medical Research Grant Committee, dealt with the basics of working in the Committee stressing on the importance of giving opportunities of funding for clinical and basic science research proposals on equal terms.
 
Also Prof. Galadari and the members of the committee welcomed the Committee’s new members; Prof. Frank Christopher Howarth and Prof. Salah Al-Dien Al-Nagi Gharib Allah, wishing the committee all the best.
 
It is worth mentioning that Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences allocates two million AED, in each term, to support the scientific research within UAE.
